Thinking Inside the Box is a co-curricular project at King’s College London between the Brazil Institute, King’s Center for Strategic Communications, the Department of War Studies and the Department of History. Working in close partnership with University of London’s Senate House Library, the project takes a deep dive into their largely unknown yet expansive collection of Latin American political posters and pamphlets of the mid-20th century.
The project aims to bring these materials to light through exhibitions of select pieces. The exhibitions are accompanied by original written works from both undergraduate and postgraduate students that engage critically with the visual, communicative, historical and political relevance of the materials.
Our first exhibition ran throughout April 2022 at The Exchange. The exhibition will now travel to different locations around the world. Our next location will be shared here shortly. If you are interested in hosting Thinking Inside the Box, please reach out to one of the project leads.
